Achieving a Net-Zero Christmas through GHG Emission Reductions and Offsets
Green Wise is proud to announce that we have achieved a Net-Zero Christmas through our “Slow Green Christmas” initiative. This milestone is the culmination of a four-year collaboration, starting in 2022, with a foreign consulting firm to reduce environmental impact.
Over the years, Green Wise has been reimagining the holiday season through our “Slow Green Christmas” initiative. We have introduced a variety of sustainable ideas to reduce the environmental footprint of Christmas decorations—which are all too often treated as disposable after the festivities.
Our journey began in 2022 by switching from imported, cut Oregon firs to domestically grown rooted trees. Since then, we have implemented several mindful practices: installing trees that can be “reunited” with next year, reusing materials like ornaments and pot covers, and hosting workshops for employees to craft ornaments from recycled and natural materials.
Through these “Slow Green Christmas” efforts, we have successfully saved a total of 17 trees over the past four years.

We have also consistently worked to reduce GHG emissions associated with transportation.
Further Initiatives in 2025: Realizing a Net-Zero Christmas Tree
As Green Wise continues to explore ways to decorate for Christmas while minimizing environmental impact, we obtained SBT (Science Based Targets) certification for small and medium-sized enterprises in 2024. This allowed us to calculate and track our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and set specific reduction targets.
Reducing GHG emissions is a core strategy for Green Wise as we strive to realize an environmentally symbiotic society under our guiding principle: “cultivating a lifestyle in nature, that also connects to nature.”
Building on the expertise gained through SBT certification and four years of practicing “Slow Green Christmas,” our 2025 initiative achieved Net-Zero status. This was accomplished by maximizing reduction efforts and offsetting the remaining emissions through carbon credits.

Achieving Net-Zero through “Slow Green Christmas” has become a meaningful initiative that contributes to our corporate partners’ external efforts in reducing environmental impact as they move toward a carbon-neutral society.
Moving forward, we will continue to drive Net-Zero initiatives to realize an environmentally symbiotic society and remain committed to supporting the sustainable activities of our diverse partners.
