In November 2024, B&B Italia, Italy’s leading modern furniture brand, relocated its Tokyo flagship store from Gaienmae to Kotto Street, Omotesando.
Green Wise was responsible for the planting design of both the interior and terrace spaces of the new store.
For the Outdoor Collection exhibition, held from July 2025, Green Wise was commissioned to create a new planting design.
To recreate the atmosphere of the exhibition in Italy, the design centred on large-leaved and tall tropical species such as Livistona, Strelitzia nicolai, Areca palm, and Monstera. These voluminous plants, native to tropical regions, were arranged to evoke a sense of openness and relaxation – an experience of being outdoors while indoors.
In addition, an original hanging greenery installation was created and mounted on the facade facing Kotto Street, becoming a striking landmark that draws the eyes of passers-by.
Environmental Consideration
Through this project, we encountered the Italian philosophy of ‘Passing valuable authenticity’.
The insight gained from this experience will serve as an important guide in exploring new possibilities for our sustainable rental greenery services.
