The 2019 New Year’s decorations for Tamagawa Takashimaya S・C.

This year’s decoration was highlighted with the cubical ornament, which is considered a lucky charm in Japanese culture. A cubic container was used to measure rice grains and sake in the old days, which were the symbol of wealth and prosperity. The powerful pine branches stretch out of the cubes making a striking contrast with the straight lines of the frames, representation of life and strength seen in the natural world.
