MARK IS Minatomirai Rooftop Garden
MARK IS Minatomirai is the biggest commercial building in the Minato Mirai 21 area of Yokohama. On the rooftop on the fifth floor is “Everyone’s Garden,” a 1,000㎡ fruit and vegetable garden. Green Wise manages the upkeep of the garden and outer perimeter, as well as organizing various events held in the garden.
Planted in the fruit garden are 22 varieties of citrus, including the locally developed “Shōnan Gold,” as well as figs, grapes, berry bushes, and herbs. In the vegetable garden, over 78 different vegetables and herbs are grown organically and harvested.
Throughout the year more than 100 events are organized, weekends and seasonally, to spread awareness and appreciation of green spaces by providing opportunities to be exposed to nature.
Utilizing the power in the natural cycle of living things and with both humans and the environment in mind, Green Wise works to provide a space and time where one can come in touch with nature and enjoy the green around them.
