Kyoto University of the Arts Open Lecture: Designing Connected Greenery

On 10-11 September 2024, Takahashi from Green Wise served as a lecturer for the Kyoto University of the Arts Open Lecture ‘Designing Connected Greenery’.

Lecture on ‘Designing Connected Greenery’

Shinji Takahashi, who previously worked as a designer at Green Wise Italy, gave a two-day lecture on ’indoor greenery in tune with the changing times’ as part of the Kyoto University of the Arts public programme (Art Studies Institute). The lectures were held at the university’s Gaien Campus in Tokyo and at the Green Wise headquarters in Tama.
As a professional actively engaged in corporate projects, Takahashi led hands-on workshops, sharing the current state of indoor greenery and real-life examples to help participants build practical skills.

To equip participants with the skills and knowledge required for indoor greening – which differs greatly from outdoor landscaping – he presented numerous examples under the theme of ‘Connected Greenery’. From greenery that bridges indoors and outdoors, to greenery that enhances usability and fosters communication, he explored the diverse roles that plants play in interior environments, drawing on his professional experience.
